Many of these paintings were inspired by my early morning walks where I am a scavenger, stopping to pick up dead plants, pods, dry leaves and anything else that catches my eye. I then arranged and painted them, a painstakingly slow process which I thoroughly enjoyed. The challenge of colour mixing and matching was all-consuming and really sharpened the way I see things. If you stare long enough, you can see a multitude of colours. A most satisfying and gratifying process. (The bowl of stones has won a prize).
